Pittsburgh Pirates Field Trip

The Tidioute Community Charter School will be taking the students in grades 3, 4, 5 & 6 to Pittsburgh, Pa to watch a Baseball game at PNC Park for the 2012 Education Days. The bus will leave the school at 7:45 am. If your child rides a bus to school, they will be able to come to school on the bus as usual. We plan to arrive at the park at 11:00am. The students will participate in a scavenger hunt at PNC Park prior to the game. The first pitch will be at 12:35. The Pirates will be playing the New York Mets. The school has purchased a baseball jersey for each of the students.
The students will be eating their packed lunch on the bus when we arrive at the stadium. Please designate on the bottom of this sheet if you will pack your child's lunch or if you would like to buy one from the school. The park does not allow any soda, sports drinks or opened bottles to enter the stadium. Water must be less than 24oz and be in a clear bottle. The student will be allowed to purchase food, beverages, and souvenirs in the stadium if they want. The prices are elevated. When I spoke to someone at the stadium they suggested $10 if a child plans to purchase a beverage and a hotdog or nachos.
They are estimating three hours for the game. We plan to arrive in Tidioute at 7pm. This is an estimated time. We will not be stopping for dinner on the way home. The students are asked to pack a snack for the way home in their lunch. The lunches will be left on the bus, so please make sure that snacks do not have to be refrigerated. If you have any questions please feel free to contact the school at 484-3550.
